Local communications technology provider Powernet has hired Christian Gartner as CFO.
Gartner will be responsible for the company’s financial leadership, seeking ways to maximize the long-term success and profitability, developing company-wide processes to measure financial performance and goals to promote Powernet’s performance-based culture, and managing major initiatives for accounting, treasury, tax, pricing, debt financing, and audit activities of the organization and subsidiaries.
“We are fortunate to have such a seasoned executive join our team and look forward to Christian helping us streamline our finances and look for new opportunities for growth,” said Alli Stevens, CEO.
“Having worked at billion dollar companies with great intentions but mostly wasted opportunities, one of their values would always be ‘our people are our most important asset’, but in practice, the actions toward those employees never reflected the value. It appears that Powernet walks the talk,” said Gartner. “Serving on the board for the last several years, I have come to appreciate Powernet’s dedication to the communities it serves and the pride through which all of its employees have in this company,”
Earning his degree from Miami University and a Masters from Xavier University, Gartner has over 25 years of experience in the financial arena with seven of those years dedicated to the telecommunications industry. He brings a wealth of knowledge from his various senior financial positions, most recently as a senior vice president and treasurer for First Group America.
“We have set targets for 2016 and Christian is the right person to help us accomplish those goals,” Stevens said. “He understands we are not a cookie cutter company, and his ability to manage and lead is a huge plus for here at Powernet.”
